Our summer holidays at the beach mean that there is going to have to be some serious shopping for swimwear and swimsuits in 2009, not just for me but for the whole family. With such short notice, buying swimsuits online may even be a good option, particularly for me as being 5 month’s pregnant means that I’m going to have to find maternity swimwear that both fits and looks good. Swimwear, swimsuits, snorkels, goggles, buckets and spades are only available in one store in our little country town. They stock a reasonable range of men’s swimwear but women’s swimsuits are just not quite trendy enough for the resort we are going to be staying at. I suppose there is not much demand for them here, the seaside is well over 300 miles away.

One option of course is to leave buying our swimwear swimsuits until we arrive. I would however, much rather have our swimsuits packed and not have to worry about these things. I can just imagine how excited the girls will be and the hurry they will be in to have their first swim. Somehow the thought of unpacking, and then heading off to buy swimwear and swimsuits doesn’t sound like a good idea. After 6 hours travelling, all we are going to want to do is to put on our swimsuits and head either to the beach or the pool.

Friends of ours stayed at this place last year and recommended it to us. Even though it is fairly up-market accommodation, everyone spends most of their time in either their swimwear or swimsuits. The focus is on casual and family, and even women that wear plus size swimwear can look attractive and not feel embarrassed. The idea of a holiday to us is to be able to dress casually in our swimwear and swimsuits and not have to be forever changing clothes and dressing for lunch or dinner. Covering swimwear bottoms with an attractive wrap around skirt is quick and easy and is all that is required when coming in for meals.

I must admit, in 2009 women’s swimwear is now so much more attractive than it has ever been. Matching accessories have taken swimwear swimsuits to an entirely new level. There is no excuse for anyone being badly dressed in an ill fitting or unflattering swimsuit these days. Even if the body isn’t great, there are so many different types of light over-garments that can be worn that transform and flatter. Well, I guess the first thing to do now is visit our local store to see just exactly what new season stock they have. Even if we can get just one swimsuit each it will at least get us through the first day or so until we have time to go shopping.
